Amazing cook book

Forks Over Knives Family explains the nuts and bolts of how to feed your family a whole foods, plant based vegan diet It is not meant to explain what the diet is or to convince you of its benefits if you have questions about that, the book refers you to Forks Over Knives The Plant Based Way to Health Forks Over Knives Family is divided into two parts. In the first part, Drs Alona Pulde and Matthew Lederman discuss how they feed their daughters plant based They answer several questions I ve had, i [...]

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an objective review I have read several food diet fad books in the last three years This series is probably one of the best in terms of science and nutritional value Unfortunately, most of the recipes included for a typical family are ingredient rich and time intensive I know that with seven people in my family, it would be next to impossible to be able to pay for and have the time to cook these foods on a regular [...]

I love their cookbook and now magazine, so naturally, I loved this one, too It is jam packed with intriguing recipes for everything from condiments to cakes, all consistent with my Nutritarian, no oil, limited grain, no processed sugar lifestyle I can t wait to try them all Having borrowed it from the library, I will buy it It will be a staple on my cookbook shelf

More reviews and no fluff on the blog surrealtalvi.wordpress The author and chef did get a lot of things right with this book the difficulty of transitioning a family into a vegan diet, defending the switch to others, supplements that may be needed, ease of preparation, etc The language is clear and the presentation brief but informative The recipes are nicely laid out and easy to follow But this is a plan that, although touted as something that can be transitioned into in stages, in reality wil [...]

Recipes are boring to the tastebuds and take a lot longer to prep and make then the allotted time Im not new to vegetarian vegan cooking but I was surprised at how long these took to make since this is supposed to be a family cook book Ive made 5 recipes so far and they were all just blah Im still searching for a delicious plant based cookbook.

I was mostly interested in checking out the recipes in this book I skimmed though the first part I did find some usable recipes The lack of photos for all the recipes is a problem for me This would be a good resource for young families.

This book has a lot of recipes that I plan on trying, but a lot of ingredients that are called for might be foreign to many average American pantries I think simpler recipes for a family that wants to integrate plant based foods into their menus would be helpful.

A solid 3.5 More for recipes The advice wasn t anything particularly new.

meh Definitely not the worst cookbook, but far from the best I enjoy seeing pictures of the final product and there were only a handful displayed.

I plan on using many of these recipes to feed my vegan family Many good tips and lots of encouragement for me as I continue to raise my boys the healthiest way I can.

A good one to have on hand.

I got so many recipes out of this that I m dying to try And even though I m not a parent, some of the tips on eating out, taking trips, etc were helpful even for me.

Forks over Knives is a great standard and this book has some awesome recipes If I were raising a child, this would be a perfect guidebook I m SO close to taking the final step to becoming fully vegan vegetarian but just not yet It will be an easier transition when I have a home of my own.

There were a lot of things I liked about Forks Over Knives Family, and also a few things I didn t.What I liked That the authors gave a great plan for working this lifestyle into a family that has older children It s easy to set down a plan when your kids are little, much harder when they are set in their ways They took into account that some people might not want to completely change their eating habits We are meat eaters here in our house We always will be So my goal is not to cut meat, dairy, [...]

When I saw that Forks Over Knives produced a family cookbook I got excited I got three nieces, one nephew and another on the way and they all love to stay over Aunt Sam s house I love having them over and cooking for them Problem is, each has their own taste and pickiness level I ve been trying to find some healthy kid approved recipes for them when they stay over so I figured I d check this book out The first third of this book is comprised of information and tips on pregnancy and parenting in [...]

I have to say I was a bit disappointed with this one I loved the FOK planner As someone who is beginning to eat WFPB with two young children, I was eager to find a book that would help with simple compliant meals for my family I will say the tips were good, it basically reinforced things I already knew But the recipes were overly complex for me This might have been a good choice for someone experienced, but as an introduction for a newly WFPB family it was not accessible or simple I don t have t [...]

As will all FOK books, only one little section of colorful photos depicting recipes, which is always a bid sad to me The recipes are void of any animal products and are minimal on oil, but still give me lots of good ideas to use in my own cooking The intro section recaps the FOK standards, which is pretty much vegan with minimal oil If you are currently not a vegan, don t be surprised if you are disappointed with some of the recipes in this book While they are packed with fresh flavors, these fl [...]

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.A whole food, plant based diet Written in a readable but instructive manner, this is invaluable for not only a family with children but for anyone that eats From pregnancy, through all the cravings, on to kid friendly snacks and further, this is a whole encyclopedia Sweet Potato Hash Brown Patties are wonderful Recommended.

2.5 stars There are some tips that would be helpful to new families As for the recipes which take up 2 3 of the book, I was unhappy I made two recipes Mashed potatoes with red gravy and also Cremini Mushroom Gravy and I didn t like either of them.

blah

Not what I was hoping for
